Promotion of the Civil Society Dialogue
Betweeen EU and Turkey:
Youth Initiatives for Dialogue
Solution Time for Employment Problem - STEP

STEP Project; is co-financed by the European Union and the contracting authority is Central Finance and Contracts Unit. The Project is granted under the "Promotion of the Civil Society Dialogue Between EU and Turkey" Programme and within the scope of "Youth Initiatives for Dialogue" component of the Programme.

 
  The aim of this program is;
to strengthen the contacts and the mutual exchange of experience between civil society in Republic of Turkey and the Member States of the European Union;
to ensure better knowledge and understanding of Republic of Turkey within the European Union, including Turkish history and culture, thus allowing for a better awareness of the opportunities and the challenges of future enlargement;
to ensure better knowledge and understanding of the European Union within Republic of Turkey, including the values, on which it is founded, its functioning and its policies.

  Target Group;
 

200 university students/graduates from 18-28 age group who who had been/have been belong to Youth NGOs or Student Clubs either at Turkey or Greece.

  Youth NGOs in the Turkey , Greece and all EU and Candidate Countries (50 NGOs at the first stage then 100 NGOs at the end of the second year),    
       
 

Ultimate Beneficiaries;

Youth population in the EU and Candidate Countries which has determined as 75 million people,
National mechanisms dealing with youth issues in the EU across Europe.
   
  General Targets of the Project
  The overall objectives of the project are to create a sustainable dialogue between youth NGOs in Turkey and in Greece and to encourage exchange of knowledge and solution proposals on EU and National Youth Employment Policies and Problems.
   
  AIMS OF THE PROJECT
Special Aims
To increase the awareness on EU values, priorities, Youth Employment and Multiculturalism Policies and “European Citizenship” Concept
To improve individual capacities of youth for increasing the youth participatory to the decision making processes
To provide information and experience sharing between young people through a sustainable dialogue between Turkish and Greek Youth NGOs in the integration process of Turkey to the EU
To emphasize the necessary measures that goverments have to take to increase the employment rates of the young people and to create a pressure for urgent implementation of the current laws, regulations and directives
To underline the discrimination against young women in the employment processes and to draw the attention to the equal opportunity
To make contribution to the efforts concerning the development of a permanent participatory democracy
To feed the current cultural dialogue between Turkey and Greece through the concept of « European Citizenship »
   
  Expected Outcomes Of The Project
To create a training methodology including EU-Youth Policies, EU values and priorities, individual development and European Citizenship modules which can be potentially implemented among all young people in the EU and to make the pilot implementation of this training to 200 young people in Turkey and Greece.
To establish an « E-Dialogue », which encompasses efficient youth NGOs in Turkey and Greece.
After the determination of the lacks and problems of National and EU Youth Policies, to bring solutions to these problems and to emphasize them publicly.
